Inline Hockey is a sport that offers a total-body workout that includes both aerobic and anaerobic elements. The fast-paced nature of the sport provides aerobic exercise, while the reliance on all of the body's major muscle groups also makes it an anaerobic activity. The result is a number of health benefits to the body, both physically and mentally. Some of the benefits include:
*Cardiovascular Exercise - results in calorie burn, fat loss and improved cardiorespiratory health. Most players maintain an accelerated heart rate throughout the game and for 30 minutes following. Players can expect to burn over 500 calories for every 45 minutes of play.
*Improved Coordination - hockey requires players to develop speed, power and agility while having quick reactions during game play. Developing these skills can lead to improved overall balance and agility along with hand-eye coordination.
*Enhanced Muscular Strength - hockey provides a strength-training workout, with the core and leg muscles being developed.
These are great benefits of inline hockey, but the most important thing is that kids and adults love to play the game!
